Aluflex Thermal Flexible Ducts are manufactured using AL-PET (laminated aluminum foil and polyethylene terephthalate), and a layer of glass mineral wool insulation that is packed within the aluminum foil housing of the ducts.
Some unique features include having the aluminum foil housing reinforced with fiberglass yarn and tensile strength spiral wire for increased stability and toughness against harsh environments. The inner surfaces of the duct are made smooth and dust-proof to minimize the loss in air velocity. The aluminum foil body and jacketing is also highly resistant and impermeable to UV rays.
Aluflex Thermal Flexible Ducts have been tested for and comply to the following standards for Fire Rating:
British Standard 476 : Part 6 : 1989 (Fire Propagation) (passed)
British Standard 476 : Part 7 : 1997 (Surface Spread of Flames) (attained Class 1)
As both results are of the highest standard, Aluflex Thermal Flexible Ducts are awarded the Class “0” standard, when tested at TUV SUD PSB Corporation Singapore.
