SS141 uPVC Pipes are designed according to the requirements laid out in the Singapore Standards No. 141, that oversees the use and specifications of the pipes in cold water services with temperatures up to 25°C, that is intended for human consumption and general usage; and industrial uses with water within the range of up to 45°C.
SS141 uPVC pipes and fittings can be sub-divided into various classes [Class B, C, D, E], with each class specializing in a certain application, and having different physical properties.
Class "B" & "C" : They contain good insulative properties, including high di-electric strength (near zero electrical conductivity), which makes it best suited to be used as cable conduits.
Class "D" & "E" : White-coloured pipes that feature high working pressures between 12 to 15 Bars (1.2 to 1.5 Mpa), these pipes can be fitted with mechanical equipment or connected to other machinery, for use as pumps or in cooling towers. They can also be used to transport cold water to households and commercial buildings for consumption purposes, and irrigation of crops to a certain extent in hybrid and vertical farming solutions. These pipes are both odourless and toxic-free, and do not release harmful substances or taste when transporting water. This also makes the SS141 uPVC an increasingly popular choice for use at temporary water sites.
